What is so special about 3 Day Startup?
3 Day Startup is an entrepreneurial event where participants get to work on their startup ideas in teams of 8 alongside experienced mentors. It is the perfect event for you to get insights into how a startup functions. The mentors will help you over the course of three days to develop your idea, business model and a MVP. Each team will also have a dedicated mentor who will help them after the conclusion of the event.
When and where does 3 Day Startup take place?
3 Day Startup will be organized from the 3th-5th of February 2023. It is organized at the WHU- Otto Beisheim School of Management in Vallendar, Germany and will take place online this year.
Who can apply for 3 Day Startup?
Anyone with the motivation and passion for startups is welcome to apply. 3 Day Startup accepts applications from academic fields such as, but not limited to, business, computer science, design, mathematics and natural sciences. We encourage you to apply as a team since it will enable you to better receive the benefits of this program.
Is there a winner for the event?
Yes. 3 Day Startup, like most other events, will have a winner. We conclude with a pitch battle between the teams. Our jury, which comprises of our corporate partners selects a winner based on the startup idea and viability of the business model.
What prize do the winners receive?
The winners will receive the unique chance to get feedback from our experienced jury and mentors. Moreover, they will receive the chance to pitch their idea to leadership team of our main sponsor in order to raise funding for their startup. In addition, they will receive legal help to aid them in the process of setting up their startup from one of our sponsors. However, the specifications of the prize is subject to change.
Do I have to pay for the event?
The participation in 3 Day Startup costs 45 €. This is to prevent/ reduce no-shows at the event and will cover all the costs associated to your accomodation, food and entertainment at the event.
Can I work on my idea before the event?
Yes. The purpose of 3 Day Startup is to aid in the realization of your idea and support early-stage entrepreneurs. We encourage you to apply as a team. One of the requirements for the event is to have a basic understanding of your idea for example, by using the Business Model Canvas. This to ensure that the mentors can give you more personalized guidance and the 3 days can be used constructively to work on the problem areas. However, there is no restriction on the amount of preparation you can do for the event. Please contact us at info@3dsgermany.com for further clarification.
How are the ideas selected?
All teams will have the liberty to work on any idea during the course of the event. Nonetheless, you will also have the option to apply with an idea. We highly recommend you do so.
How will the teams be assigned?
Teams will be formed before the event. We encourage you to apply as a team. This to ensure synergy amongst the team members.
How does the application process work?
The application process is quite simple. You can submit your application by clicking on the 'apply now' button. You will be taken to our ticketing tool and prompted to enter information regarding your education and motivation. Please fill in the required information and submit your CV (If applicable, also Pitch Deck). We will then contact you for an interview. From this point we will try to process it and get back to you with an answer as soon as possible.
How does the payment process work?
The ticketing tool will prompt you to enter your billing information while submitting your application. However, this will not be processed until you have been accepted to the event i.e. you will be charged upon acceptance.
Payments can be made via credit cards only. However, if you are unable to do so, please contact us. We will definitely reach a solution!
